Our Oxford Pallet Bantam Reps opened the season this past week with 1 win and 1 loss.
Opening night saw the team on home ice taking on the Flames from Aylmer. After a quick start to the game, the knighthawks found themselves up by a goal. With both teams battling for position with the puck, the Flames got themselves not 1 but 2 penalty shots in this game, capitolizing on only 1 of them. Heading to the third period the teams were tied at 2. After Aylmer went ahead on a late powerplay goal, Norwich had a multiple goal scoring chances but could not beat the Flames goaltender. Aylmer was able to net another goal late in the game and take the road win 4-2.
Thursday night saw the club travel to Paris for a late night tilt with the Wolfpac. And a tilt it was, with both teams having multiple trips to the penalty box. Norwich was able to score on a early powerplay and once again in the second frame. Up 2-0 heading to the 3rd period the team played solid defense and did what they needed to get the win in this one. Paris was able to score 1 goal in the 3rd, Final score 2-1 Knighthawks.
The Club now travels to Ingersoll this coming Saturday night to take on the Express, puck drop is set for 8pm. Come on out to Ingersoll and cheer on your Knighthawks.
