Oxford Pallet Bantam Rep’s move on to the OMHA finals!
Congratulations to the Oxford Pallet Bantom Rep’s, who after defeating The Chatsworth Rebels move on to face the Flesherton Goldenhawks in the OMHA D / DD Finals.

After winning the toss and because of the travel distance the first two games were in Norwich. On a warm Saturday afternoon, game 1 of the series began and saw The Knighthawks quite easily defeating the Rebels by a score of 4-1. With goals from Copper, Brandon, Travis and Drake the boys were off to a good start! Game 2 was the next day and although the Knighthawks carried the play for the majority of the game after regulation the score was 2-2 thanks to goals from Lane and Travis. Unfortunately the boys just couldn’t get the overtime winner to secure the 2 points and they ended up tied 2-2. So with a win and a tie the Oxford Pallet Bantom Rep’s traveled to Chatsworth hoping to wrap up the series there. On Saturday the puck dropped in a very cold, dimly lit Chatsworth arena but that didn’t stop the Knighthawks from playing an excellent very disciplined game that they controlled from start to finish, with goals from Brandon, Colin and Carson, and some great goal tending by Ben getting a shutout the Knighthawks won 3-0. The Knighthawks were up in points 5-1 just needing a tie or a win to advance. Sunday’s game came around and from the puck drop it was evident that the boys had stayed up at the hotel too late the night before, and maybe had too much for lunch. (On a side note if you are ever going through Chatsworth on the way to Owen Sound you have to stop at “Kettles Back Home Cookin” great restaurant!) They played an uncharacteristic sloppy game, allowing the Rebels to dominate them and ended up losing 7-1. Back to Norwich the series came last Saturday and with a great crowd on hand from both teams the atmosphere was electric . The Puck dropped and the Rebels came out faster and in the first period went up 2-0, finally in the second period the Oxford Pallet Knighthawks woke up and started playing hockey and with goals from Cooper and Travis tied the game 2-2. The third period saw the Knighthawks hit post after post and come oh so close so many times, and with some great saves from Ben kept everyone on the edge of their seats. With 4 minutes left in the game and everyone wondering if we were heading for overtime the Knighthawks found themselves shorthanded. The boys were beating off the power play and applying a little pressure on the rebels, that’s when Ethan went in and stripped the puck from one of the Chatsworth players, sped towards the Rebels goal and buried it in the net! The Norwich crowd went wild with excitement and the game finished up with the Knighthawks getting the big “W”. It was a great series against the Rebels, and we wish them all the best in their off season.

Now the Oxford Pallet Bantom Rep’s face their biggest challenge yet as they go up against the Flesherton Goldenhawks. Puck drops this Saturday in Flesherton, home games are in Norwich on Tuesday March 14th at 7pm, Sunday March 19th at 3pm and if need be Thursday March 23rd at 7pm. If you are a fan of great hockey I urge you to come out and cheer on your OMHA Norwich Knighthawk Oxford Pallet Bantom Rep finalists at these games! Go Knighthawks!
