Another Few Weeks Have Gone By
Another few weeks have gone by and the Oxford Pallet Norwich Knighthawk Bantam reps are currently second behind Simcoe in League play. The Bantams had a week off, then came out flat against the Ingersoll Express on November 21st , who handed the Knighthawks their second loss of the season. The boys redeemed themselves two days later winning 5-2 against Paris.

This past weekend the Oxford Pallet Bantom Reps competed in the one day West Grey Tournament in Durham. At 8am the Knighthawks and their parents boarded a nice coach bus supplied by East Elgin Concrete (special thanks to Roger for looking after that) and took off for the Durham arena. The Bantom’s first game was against Listowel and after three periods the game was tied 1-1, but just a couple minutes into overtime Carson scored to get the win. Next the Knighthawks faced the Kincardine Kinucks and for the second game in a row the boys ended up tied 1-1 after regulation, forcing them once more into overtime. This time it was Brandon that got the Winner and gave the Oxford Pallet Batam Reps their second win. Unfortunately this tournament was scored by period winning points, so even though the Knighthawks had won both their games they didn’t have enough points to make it into the “A” final. The boys didn’t have any chance to rest and as soon as they had beaten Kincardine they had to play Walkerton in the “B” final. The Oxford Pallet Bantom Reps didn’t need overtime in this game as they ended up with a 5-0 win and a nice trophy to take home. Nice Job boys! Statistically the Knighthawks had a great tourney winning all three of their games and only allowing 2 goals all tournament. It was a total team effort from the forwards, to the defence, and the goaltending, the Oxford Pallet Bantam Reps performed very well. One player in particular stood out, not because he scored a goal but because of his sheer determination and will. During the first game Riley Brankenberry went down hard, but continued to play all three games. Come to find out the next day after visiting the hospital that Riley separated his shoulder and will be out for a little bit until it heals. Riley never complained and didn’t want to let his team mates down, Riley apptimizes the spirit of this team and we wish him a speedy recovery.

Next the Norwich Knighthawks face the Hagersville Hawks Tuesday night (tonight) in Norwich, hopefully the boys feed off their wins this weekend and continue their great season!

So if you have those Tuesday Blues, or just tired of being home with nothing to do, take a trip to the Norwich Arena and watch your Knighthawks move!
