December Action for Novice Local League
December started off with the Norwich Knighthawk's Modern Trends Novice Local League team hosting Port Dover Pirates at home Sunday, December 3. The first period started off with some great stops by Knighthawk's goalie Josiah Koncir. Norwich offense was off to a quick start with a breakaway by Ian Sprague. Kohen Mann and Zac McFarland were working hard on defense trying to shut the Pirates down. Despite the defensive lines best effort and the offense trying to make something happen the Knighthawk's finished the game with a 0-6 loss. Next Sunday, December 10, the Knighthawk's hosted the Tillsonburg Tornadoes. Fans saw some great defence by Justyn Ladd and Ethan Wills in the first period. Koncir was on point in net only letting one goal in.

The second period Koncir and the defense worked hard and our offense tried to light it up. In the third period Carter Feyen had a great shot on net that was stopped by the Tornadoes goalie. Tillsonburg left Norwich with a 4-0 win. The Knighthawk's played their final game of the year versus the Langton Leafs Sunday, December 17. In the first period the Knighthawk's fans saw a hard offensive push by Langton but great defense by Kirsten Samways and Claire Mckie. On point goal keeping by Koncir, including a great glove save, and Bree Wood, Van McAllister and Cayden Vandamme trying to create some chances for Norwich had the fans cheering.  In the second we saw a great breakaway and shot by Zac Martin followed by a shot from Dylan Ratelle. During the third period Tanner Master and Logan Davis tried to get Norwich on the board but the Leafs managed to shut out the Knighthawk's. The team has a few practices to keep them sharp over the holidays, with their first away game Saturday, January 5 versus the Six Nations Blackhawks. Even though the Knighthawk's haven’t had any wins this month their fans are impressed by their hard work, grit and determination. We see improvement every game. Great job Knighthawk's! As a parent I want to thank the coaches, trainer and manager for a great first half of the season. We can’t wait to see what the second half brings. Go Knighthawk's, Go!
