Bantam Reps Keeping Busy
November has been an up and down month so far for the Oxford Pallet Knighthawks Bantam Rep team.

Starting the month strongly with 2 wins against the Tavistock AE team and the Tavistock REP team followed by losses to strong Twin Centers and Simcoe teams. Tuesday November 15th set up for a showdown with rivals the Ingersoll Express. The Oxford pallet Knighthawks came out strong and managed three goals coming from, Drake Simpson, Tyler Symons and Travis Vermeersch but came up short on a 4-3 loss. It was a well-played game and the boys definitely looked as they had improved from the previous two games, setting themselves up for tough game against second place Caledonia Thunder on Tuesday November 22nd. Right from the first whistle the Oxford Pallet Knighthawks looked like they had found another gear, and brought the play to the favoured Caledonia Thunder, the skating was faster, the passing crisper and the checking stronger, and the you could really see the practice drills coming together. Coach Jared mixed up the lines and seemed to find a definite recipe for scoring. With almost a fresh breath from the offence, some great defense from the “D” and goalie Ben Serrador having a fantastic game the team game out with a decisive 5-3 win, showing everyone that they can play with the best of teams and that they deserve to!

It has been fun watching the team come together, and if they can stay out of the penalty box, can beat anyone out there. This weekend sees the Oxford pallet Knighthawks in a one day tournament in West Greg where they will play some tough teams. The families have been given a treat as a coach bus was donated by “East Elgin Concrete” from Tillsonburg thanks to coach Cheetah. Hopefully the Team can carry their improved play into this weekend, through December and be in great shape for the Silver Stick Tournament.
