ATOM REP TRYOUTS
Welcome to Norwich Minor Hockey’s Atom Rep tryouts. My name is Steve Durham and it is my pleasure to be the head coach for the upcoming season. I foresee a season of fun, friendship and learning. It is my intent to focus on skill development this season along with basic team tactics. Your son or daughter will be evaluated on the following skills during tryouts: skating, puck control, passing, shooting and compete level. He or she will also be observed in relation to coachability. This includes listening during drill explanation and interaction with others. Tryouts are not practices. The tempo will be considerably slower at times to allow evaluators an opportunity to observe all players. All players will get a minimum of 3 tryouts before any cuts will be made. Players who are not released will be listed on the website on the Atom Rep page under the Team News page, following the third tryout. Players selected will be expected to present a high compete level at all times. Team events will include: games, practices, tournaments, off ice training and chalk talk. A minimum attendance level of 90% will be expected. Team tactics this season will include: defensive zone coverage, offensive zone entry, power play and penalty kill. Tryout # 2 Thursday September 10th from 7:30-9:00 pm
Tryout # 3 Saturday September 12th from 10:00-11:30 am
